Supporting causes close to our hearts

Welcome to The Yellow Heart Project!

Whether you have landed here intentionally or stumbled on my site, I’m glad you’re here.

The Yellow Heart Project was born when my lifestyle and accountability coach, Andrew Hangartner, challenged our coaching group to a 5K/10K Fun Run over the Thanksgiving weekend of 2021. Andrew’s wife Kimberly is the founder of the Be Like Josh Foundation. I have immense affection and respect for Kimberly and the work she does. I, along with several other members of the coaching group, are also passionate members of Kimberly’s Patreon group. Several of us felt called to use our 5K/10K efforts for not only a “Fun Run” and the benefit of our health but for a greater good ~raising funds for an upcoming collaboration between Kimberly and Andrew. This collaboration will involve an educational tour across the US, by RV and with ALL of their dogs. It will kick off in January of 2022. I felt inspired to find a way to get the word out about our 5K/10K fundraising efforts...not only for myself but for my teammates. In thinking about how major organizations raise funds, I felt it fitting to have a website created that would allow donors to understand the sheer importance of our goals and couple that with an easy and convenient way to give. And thus, The Yellow Heart Project came to life.

Giving from my heart, gifts, skills and blessings has long been a part of my life. My parents have modeled this for me in every facet of their lives — home, work, church, community, and our larger world. While there are more charities and causes that we can begin to count, three have significant importance in my life and are reflected as my Yellow Heart Campaign Projects. My earnest hope and goal is to fundraise for each of them at least one time each year as my way of sharing my time, talent and treasure.

‘From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.’  ~Luke 12:48

In essence, this is our call to action. If we have been blessed with talents, wealth, knowledge, time and the like, it is expected we will use it for good to benefit others.
